I founded VisaNow.AI in November 2024 and sold it to JustiGuide in January 2026. I had already been through the immigration process I was building for, and I kept the ICP narrow instead of widening it to sell to more people.

01The problem, found the expensive way

I came to the United States in September 2021 and got an O-1 two months later. I assumed the green card would be the easy part.

The first lawyer took $15,000 and produced a weak case that ended in a denial. The second took $10,000 and stopped answering: no calls, no emails, no messages, to the point where I filed a complaint with the State Bar. Between them I lost about $30,000 and three years, and it put real strain on my marriage, because my wife could not work while we waited.

In the end I wrote the missing parts of the petition myself, filed it, cleared a request for evidence over blurred stamps on a birth certificate, and we had green cards in hand four months after filing. Three years with paid representation. Four months once I did the paperwork myself. That gap was the entire business.

02The ICP was a group I was already in

The ICP was not "immigrants". It was extraordinary-ability applicants (O-1, EB-1A, EB-2 NIW) who had already been burned by slow, expensive, unresponsive counsel, or who could see it coming. Narrow enough that I could describe the buyer's last six months without asking.

I was inside the ICP myself, an O-1 holder burned by slow, expensive counsel. That gave me the problem for free, and the temptation to skip validation because I already knew the answer. I still ran the discovery conversations, because my case was one case, not a market.

03Positioning against the failure, not the profession

The easy positioning would have been "replace your lawyer with AI". It would also have been wrong, and in this industry, reckless.

So VisaNow.AI was positioned precisely: not a law firm, not legal advice, no assessment of your chances. What it did was the part the attorneys had been slow and bad at, assembling, organizing and drafting the paper trail for an O-1, EB-1A, EB-2 NIW or L-1 petition, then handing a clean package to an independent licensed attorney who kept full authority over strategy, review and filing.

The offer was a flat fee rather than an hourly meter, which answered the objection every one of these buyers already had. And we did not pay attorneys and did not take a commission from them, which I decided deliberately, so a referral fee would never shape the recommendation.

04Distribution through channels I already owned

No paid acquisition. The distribution was a YouTube channel about immigration that I had already been building, an active Telegram community of people going through the same process, and a growing network of independent partner attorneys who brought cases in.

The audience built through the YouTube channel and Telegram community became the distribution channel, in place of ad spend. A payment link was live about seven weeks after founding.

05The product removed the specific failure

Everything we built attacked one bottleneck: the document burden that made these cases slow and made bad lawyers expensive. A passport and CV recognition pipeline filled in the personal profile automatically. A roughly hundred-field client intake form arrived 60 to 80 percent pre-filled from documents the client had already uploaded, with a colour convention showing exactly which few fields still needed a human. An assistant on the site answered questions about visa criteria and booked attorney consultations without ever assessing anyone's chances.

06Outcome

Fourteen months after founding, VisaNow.AI was acquired by JustiGuide, an AI-native immigration platform, in January 2026. It is the third of my three exits, after best.ua and Delfast Delivery. No sale figure has ever been published, and none will be here.

30 minutes. No pitch, no obligations. English, Russian, or Ukrainian.
